2010 Northside ladies bicycle calendar special

In its 3rd year of production this calendar features collaborations between photographers/Melbourne ladies and there bicycles. We’ve got a few still on the shelf and it’s definitely time for them to be up on the wall so we’ve reduced them to $15 per copy.

The Otesha Project is a group of enthusiastic folks who cycle around Australia to raise awareness about sustainability issues and have a fantastic time doing it. Brunswick Cycling Club Evening Enduro

Saturday 20th @ Harrison st Velodrome Brunswick. Juniors: 1pm, Seniors: 6pm
Featuring Club Sprint session as part of the Club Track Championships, held at the outdoor velodrome on Saturday 20th, in conjunction with the Evening Enduro.
Riders from other clubs may ride the Enduro but are not eligible for the club sprint rounds.

The Human Powered Approach to Home Bike Maintenance
Announcing one of the most exciting workshops at this year’s Sustainable Living Festival! We’ll be presenting an introduction to cycling and bike maintenance, this workshop is aimed at starting out cyclists and those already cycling but who are not yet familiar with the bike maintenance basics. BYO Bike for an instructive session with qualified mechanics!

Transition Darebin and launch of the Transition Decade

Transition Darebin’s kick off for 2010 is on Thursday 11th of February
As part of the global Transition Towns movement, Transition Darebin was formed last year by a group of local residents. Their vision is “A relocalised and resilient Darebin that is liveable for current and future generations.” Since their launch last year, they have been working on projects and planning their activities for 2010. Collins Bridge is going to be closed for linemarking by Yarra Council on Monday 8th February 2010
The bridge, as many of you would know, is at the east end of Gipps Street, Abbotsford and connects to Main Yarra Trail, over the river to Dickinson Reserve & up to Yarra Boulevarde.
Signage has been placed in the area to let people know of the closure, weather permitting of course!

Lock it or lose it

Cyclists sometimes come in asking for a “cheap lock”. Cheap bike locks are a false economy. They give a false sense of security and they jam up and break.
