Catch us at the 2010 Sustainable Living Festival

A couple of months to go till the 2010 Sustainable Living Festival. Next year’s will be held at Federation Square in the city again from 19th till the 21st February. We’ve been proactive and worked out a nice little contribution from the land of the bicycle…
On Sunday the 21st at 11am we’ll be presenting the Human Powered approach to bicycle maintenance. The session will pretty much cover how to look after your bike at home. There’s a lot of work that requires specialised tools and a bit more experience to do but there is helps that you can do week to week and month to month to get better life out of your bike and reduce the running costs. Having a more efficient, safer bike is well worth it!
The session will cover topics including:
- Safety checking: what to look out for and what to do about it
- Tyres and tubes: pressures, wear, punctures
- Chains and gears: lubing and cleaning, adjusting
- Brakes: pad wear, cleaning rims and pads, tightening cables
Plus of course loads of time for discussion and questions.
here’s the writeup for the program
