    Hi,
Is it possible to fit a Rohloff 14 speed internal hub to a Soma Rush frame?
    Thanks,
    George Veginis

    Hi George,

I would recommend the Rush is not a great candidate for fitting a Rohloff Speedhub.

The Rush is a track frame. It’s spaced for a 120mm rear hub and would require significant respacing to fit the Speedhub.

I don’t reckon the track ends will be long enough for the OEM plate but you don’t have a rear derailleur hanger to run a tensioner either.

For a fast gearhub setup, how about something like the Soma Double Cross or Saga?

Let me know if we can provide any advice or assistance.

    Hi Bill,
Could you let me know how many gears the Soma Double Cross and Saga have.
What is the cost for either and what website can I visit to view these hubs?
    Thanks,
    George

    Hi George,
With either of these the gear choice is yours. You could go for either a cassette hub for derailleur gears or a hub gear.

I’ll shoot you an email with details on pricing for these. It will vary greatly depending on the gearing choice of course.
    Cheers,
    Bill

    Hi Bill,
My preference is a Rohlof hub on my Soma Rush frame.

    Hi HPC Team!

First of all, thank you to Louis for his able assistance and enthusiasm in putting the finishing touches to The Blobinnator (my Xtracycle).

It is almost my only form of daily transport now – and that includes pick up and drop off from kinder (2 kids on the back), shopping, daily commuting, family rides to Nana’s (Clifton Hill to Bundoora and return – with 2 Xtracycles)…

It’s a damn shame the import into Australia of these fine everyday load carrying solutions has fallen over. There is such a market for them! The number of times a kinder Mum comes up to me and asks where did you get the bike? is beginning to get a bit frustrating (OK online shopping is cheap, but it’s not a conversation).

Anyway, once again thanks for helping us get on the road!

Here’s a link to a recent post on my blog on the joys of Ute Cycling: http://bit.ly/qSKLdj

    cheers
