Some thoughts from AusBike 2009
The ’09 Australian bike trade show (AusBike) was in Melbourne over the weekend. We popped in to check out the latest gear…
We were there to check out bikes and equipment for everyday cyclists rather than high performance lightweight racing gear. The expo was dominated by the competitive cycling market but there was a range of suppliers demonstrating practical and useful gear.

Catching Phil Wood and his crew was particularly interesting. Phil is now distributing direct from the States which will significantly speed up ordering and lower pricing. We’re getting an order together this week which will include some hubs, fixie cogs, lockrings and bottom brackets… If you’re after anything specific let us know!

Lots of our existing suppliers had stalls. Paul and Alex from Gazelle Bicycles with some extremely cool new dutch bikes. They also had the BoBike Mini+ and Maxi+ baby seats. We’ve got the Mini+ in the showroom already but have ordered a Maxi+ which is in stock as from Thursday 20th August.
WeeRide also had their child seats and tag-alongs on display. Bea from WeeRide said they’ve got a shipment of tag-alongs arriving this week and we’ve placed an order. This is big news – parents keep asking for tag-along bikes and most suppliers are out of stock.
