Security

When you come in looking for a suitable lock for their bike, we may ask the question: how much is your bike worth? This is not just how much did you pay for your bike?” or how much would it sell for now? but how much is it worth to you? It might be your daily transport. It might be how you collect your shopping. The main thing is, you need a lock that will give sufficient protection and be a sufficient deterrent to potential thieves that you can ride when you need and lock the bike where you want.

We offer a range of quality locks, mainly Kryptonite and Abus, including:

  1. basic cables with key or combination mechanisms
  2. a selection of D locks including mini locks, regular, extra long and extreme security options
  3. heavy duty chain locks
  4. secondary flexible cable locks for securing wheels and removable parts
  5. AXA plug-in locks

We also offer replacement quick release skewers. At a budget level, these replace the quick-release mechanism with a five sided allen key version (removing the “very-quick-release” from “quick-release”). At a higher grade, Pitlock security  solutions offer a uniquely coded nut for ultimate protection. The Pitlock system isn’t just available for wheels; combinations are offered to protect seatposts and saddle, forks, headlights and more.

Motivated by hearing about a string of bike thefts, we posted this article, Lock it or lose it, over a year ago.
