Summer bikes on display

Around October-November is when the new season bikes start to arrive. We’ve now got a good range of new models built up for test ride.
Andy’s been shooting some great photos of some of these new bikes.

Since then, there’s a stack of other new arrivals including the Kona Dr Fine, some Surly models, Gazelle Cabby with a red box, and more Globe models.

The Onya 8 with finishing touches

Check it out. A stylish hub gear city bike combining practical features like chain guard and kick stand but still agile and fast around the streets.
This is the Onya 8. And this example we’ve decked out with swept back bars for comfortable riding as well as a RackTime rack and bag combination.

Wednesday 13th was Ride to Work Day and, as tradition dictates, we celebrated. We teamed up with Darebin Council to provide a pit-stop free
bike fix and grab-a-bite-to-eat quick fix for hungry cyclists in a hurry.
This is where we were located. And here’s a photo just for fun,
Next year it’s going to get better again. We’re dreaming of a coffee cart, full breakfast spread and lounge chairs… and it looks like it’s going to happen!

A Human Powered July!

First things first, here’s a big congratulations to everyone for keeping on pedaling through the cold mornings and evenings!
With a good set of gloves and jacket the fresh mornings and evenings are great for cycling. With some mudguards and a good set of lights, even a bit of rain can be enjoyable! And even better, the days are getting longer and Spring is approaching fast…

Keeping it local… Australian made gear

We’ve spent a lot of time hunting around for Australian made bike parts and accessories. And it’s been successful. This post covers some of the gear available from the local market.
Ok so we know the benefits of local stuff… mimising transport requirements reduces emissions. And warranties are much easier. The products are better supported and with lots of these businesses we can give feedback on what we like and what doesn’t work. They will sometimes be able to incorporate this feedback into future designs and manufacturing runs. Anyway, local gear …

The HOTTEST February news

Hi Folks!
With such perfect cycling weather, everyone’s riding their bike! So we’ve announced some super package bike deals. These deals are full city riding commuting packages, not just a bike!
Also announcing our presentation at this year’s Sustainable Living Festival and our next social ride on Friday 5th March… we’re looking  forward to another chilled out sunset ride along the bike paths.

Bill’s Pista is ON THE ROAD!

Question: Who wants to modify a stock Allegro Pista to make it fully bling? using as much off the shelf stock as possible?
Question 2: Why would you want to do that?
Answer 1: Bill wanted to. Actually, not bling but fast and fun…
Answer 2: Because the Allegro Pista is a cool locally designed frame but it’s definitely not fitted with my choice of components
So, I spent quite a few months choosing the right parts. Here’s a summary of what’s been done:
