October newsletter

Wednesday 13th was Ride to Work Day and, as tradition dictates, we celebrated. We teamed up with Darebin Council to provide a pit-stop free
bike fix and grab-a-bite-to-eat quick fix for hungry cyclists in a hurry.
This is where we were located. And here’s a photo just for fun,
Next year it’s going to get better again. We’re dreaming of a coffee cart, full breakfast spread and lounge chairs… and it looks like it’s going to happen!

A Human Powered July!

First things first, here’s a big congratulations to everyone for keeping on pedaling through the cold mornings and evenings!
With a good set of gloves and jacket the fresh mornings and evenings are great for cycling. With some mudguards and a good set of lights, even a bit of rain can be enjoyable! And even better, the days are getting longer and Spring is approaching fast…

Thanks to Park Tool USA

We’ve been using a Park Tool TM-1 spoke tension meter for near on 2 years. It’s a nice tool… easy to use, absolutely critical for wheel work, you know, one of those things you take for granted. Then a pesky little spring in it snapped about three weeks ago. Oh oh!!! Quick, “get online and work out the part number”. “Got it, 2173 I think, but it doesn’t look like anyone sells it. Better email Park”. So we did. And they called us the next morning to say they can’t …
